Kenley "Shortmus" John

Kaiso Reggae Artiste, DC Carnival Mass Band Producer & Music Producer

Biography

Shortmus began his recording career back in 1993 when he dropped out his first single The Whip. His first album titled after his hit song "Hands In the Air" later followed this up. This album burst out onto the scenes in 1998 and took the airwaves by storm. With tracks like Hands in the Air, Mama, War, Kings and Queens and a remix of The Whip, this is an album worth having. In 1999 Shortmus released his second album titled "Tropical Rhythms". This album created a stir because of its mixture of different musical styles from the Caribbean area. With its rich blend of Calypso, Soca, Reggae and a French fusion, it provided an outlet for his musical vibrations.

Shortmus has performed at various locations throughout the Washington metropolitan, including the Smithsonian Institute Folklore Festival. He has also performed in the Baltimore and New York area, and at various venues in St. Vincent & The Grenadines.
